December 2021 Update: ST JAMES THE LESS - STUBBINGS

From the Churchwardens – Sue Harrington Hill and Mary Cooper

Dear Friends

We hope everyone is well and not feeling too despondent with the latest information concerning Omicron.

We are constantly reviewing services and events taking place at Stubbings during this time to ensure that we are taking every precaution as the Omicron variant surges.

A small concert “Christmas with Renaissance Voices” (photo above) did take place this week albeit with a limited audience. It was so good to see and hear a choir in Stubbings church. It was a joyful occasion which very much reflected the joy of the festive season.

We have made the decision to cancel the Stubbings Crib Service which was to take place on 24th December at 4.30pm. For some this will be disappointing but we are sure everyone will agree we have made the right decision bearing in mind the current situation regarding Covid.

Please inform friends/neighbours or anyone you know who perhaps was intending to come to this service. The website has been updated to reflect this cancellation.

SUNDAY 19TH DECEMBER
11.00 am – Holy Communion

At the moment, (anything could happen between now and Sunday!), this service will still take place and we would love to see you if you feel comfortable and are happy to attend. We are still adhering to spaced seating arrangements and face masks are required unless exempt. We are hoping to offer coffee after this service in the Soltau Centre when we will be able to say thanks and farewell to Fr John. His last service with us will be on Christmas Day.

SATURDAY 25TH DECEMBER

11.00 am – Holy Communion

We look forward to welcoming all who are able to join us on CHRISTMAS DAY when we can celebrate together:

Mary’s boy child, Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day
And man can live for ever more because of Christmas Day”

Please take good care of yourselves and we would like to take this opportunity to extend our very best wishes to everyone for Christmas and the New Year. Let us pray for a time when a good recovery can be made through this Pandemic.

Best wishes Sue and Mary
