CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

For the younger members of the parish we have a Sunday School in the Soltau Centre during the Parish Service and during Stubbings Common Worship Communion Service. Every third Sunday at Hurley, Explorers and Adventurers groups meet in the Priory Room joining the Communion Together service at the start and for a blessing at the end. We also hold monthly Family Services at Hurley and at Stubbings.


PEBBLES

For pre-schoolers and  parents/carers ‘Pebbles’ is a short service and playgroup which meets every Thursday in the Priory Room. There are special services and activities for children during the festival seasons.


CAMEO

Second Thursday of the month at 3:00pm Priory Room
CAMEO is an opportunity for older people to Come And Meet Each Other. We gather in the Priory Room in Hurley for tea and cake to share friendship and enjoy each other’s  company. If you would like transport please contact Fiona Fieldhouse on 01628- 824574. Forthcoming dates: August 10 and Sept 14


CRAFT GROUP “Knit and Natter”

2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month 2-4 pm Soltau Centre

Do you enjoy knitting, crochet or sewing with friends? Do come along to ’Knit and Natter’ at the Soltau centre, have a cuppa and a biscuit and join us. We love to welcome new members. Forthcoming dates: July 11 - Summer Party, September 12 and 26, October 10 and 24, November 14 and 28.


YOUNG AT HEART

Soltau Centre 12.30pm on alternate Wednesdays
Can we tempt you with a delicious home cooked lunch? Older people from all three churches gather for lunch and friendly chat at the Soltau Centre. Do come and make this a  regular date. Before lunch there is a quiet Communion service in church at 11.30am for those who wish.

PARISH WALKS

Come and join a country walk once a month, come rain or shine. Walks are carefully chosen to include a welcoming pub for refreshment! You'll have a very warm welcome from this friendly group. OASIS PRAYER MEETING

Fortnightly on Tuesdays at 2pm Priory Room

OASIS is a chance to create space for us to unwind and let the silence in, making ourselves ready for God to come to us and help us in the many areas of life which cry out for his help. We will bring before God our own lives, those in the Parish we know who particularly need God?s touch and we will pray for the wider world. TRAIDCRAFT

Visit our stall in the Soltau Centre after the monthly parish service, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and friendship. You will be able to purchase: • TEA/COFFEE • PASTA • KITCHEN ROLLS • BISCUITS • CHOCOLATES • SWEETS • RAISINS/ALMONDS ETC. ALSO • FESTIVE GOODS FOR CHRISTMAS AND STOCKING FILLERS • WOODEN TOYS

• FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS • TEA/BISCUITS IN ATTRACTIVE TINS • AFTERNOON TEA HAMPER

GARDENING

Our gardening group invites you to spend time with us in the garden at Stubbings on Tuesday mornings. If you can spare a couple of hours regularly or only join us occasionally your help to cherish the garden will be warmly received by us and the snowdrops, daffodils, flowering shrubs and woodland plants. MUSIC GROUP AND CHOIR

We have a choir that sings at Littlewick Green and at Evensong in Stubbings - rehearsals on Wednesday evenings.

We would welcome people wishing to help lead the singing at our Family Services or to join the choir.


CHURCH FLOWERS

Whether you’re a terrified would-be flower arranger or an experienced one, please give one of our co-ordinators a call and join our team, get lots of support and discover the joy of offering fresh flowers in our lovely churches.


PASTORAL CARE

We have pastoral visitors who have been commissioned to visit and offer spiritual support and friendship to people in the parish would like this for whatever reason. Please contact our Pastoral Care co-ordinator Fiona Fieldhouse.


SMALL GROUPS:
DISCOVERY GROUPS and CURSILLO

Discovery Groups Fortnightly during term-time.

Our new small groups give you  the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and make friends as well! Groups meet fortnightly during term-time. There are currently five groups: one has a musical bias, there is a lunchtime group and groups for families with young children. For further information please contact Keith or Tina.


Cursillo is a movement of the Church, providing a method by which Christians are empowered to grow through prayer, study and action and enabled to share God’s love with all. Cursillo seeks to serve the whole Church, and to equip Christians to be the church wherever they are, and in whatever stream of tradition or theology they are comfortable. We have a Cursillo group in our Parish. For details please contact Keith.

Whats On

SOCIAL EVENTS

We have a huge variety of social (and sometimes fundraising) events during the year from the delightful ‘Music on a Summer’s evening’ concert in a Hurley garden to the Parish Garden Party and Christmas Fayre, running a tea stall at the Littlewick Show, lecture evenings in Littlewick, BBQ’s and much more. Sung Evensong (BCP) at Hurley – 13th August

As part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the rebuilding of their church St Michael and St Mary Magdalene, Easthampstead are holding a sung Evensong (BCP) in St Mary the Virgin Hurley on Sunday August 13th at 5.30pm

 All are welcome to join their congregation for this service.


The Organ Club visit Hurley – 19th August

The Organ Club will visit Hurley Church on Saturday 19th August at 10.45am to put the organ through its paces – all are welcome to come and listen in.


Hurley Regatta - Saturday 19th August 2017

A unique event on the Thames – a mix of serious races, ridiculous things to do on water, land based competitions, entertainment and fun for all the family.

We will be serving our famous Cream Teas every Sunday afternoon from 3.00pm on the green outside Hurley Church on warm sunny days, or in the Priory Room if cold or wet.
